News About Us

As is our custom, this semiannual correspondence is intended to keep you abreast of developments in estate and elder law. It has been a particularly active period since our Spring 2015 newsletter with many of the changes directly impacting our clients. The following is a brief summary of noteworthy developments since our last communication:


Elder Law Mi, Our new Plymouth locationWe have moved our Canton office to Plymouth!

Our new Plymouth office is fully staffed with a waiting room to accommodate our growing practice. The address of the new location is 217 W. Ann Arbor Rd. Ste. 302, Plymouth, MI 48170. It is on the South side of Ann Arbor Rd. just West of Lilly Rd., directly across from the McDonalds.


P. Mark Accettura presented on the subject of his most recent book, Blood & Money: Why Families Fight and What To Do About It to 320 financial advisors at the Ed Slott Master Elite IRA Advisor Group Workshop in Denver, Colorado on Oct. 23rd, 2015. And, no, he did not celebrate Colorado’s recent legalization of marijuana!


Undaunted by his reviews in last January’s production of The Sound of Music, Sam Hurwitz will appear in Sky’s the Limit’s production of The Wiz as the Head Monkey this January at the Berman Center for Performing Arts. Apparently the director expects Sam to sing and dance. Show dates are January 23, 28, and 31 of 2016. The theater world is abuzz!


Becky continues to play the French Horn (a devotion for the last 22 years) in the Farmington Community Band which is celebrating its 50th Anniversary with a season-ending concert at Orchestra Hall on June 26, 2016. For more information on upcoming concerts visit fcbmusic.org.


Elder Law Mi, Wendy Turner at Sleepy Howell event in OctoberWendy Turner was the Howell office host for the 13th annual Legend of Sleepy Howell in October where we served over 2,000 little trick-or-treaters. Wendy was appropriately dressed as The Queen of Hearts.


Elder Law Mi, Office Manager Kim Rapp Ironman on October 11, 2015 in Louisville, KentuckyOur office manager, Kim Rapp, completed her goal of becoming an Ironman on October 11, 2015 in Louisville, Kentucky. She covered 140.6 total miles (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, 26.2 mile run) and crossed the finish line in 11 hours 24 minutes and 39 seconds. She placed 15th out of 174 women in her Age Group and 315th out of a total of 2,573 finishers.


Elder Law Mi, Our receptionist, Pam Tokarz younger son Mike is a finalist, for the second year in a row, in the Pure Michigan Moments Photo ContestOur receptionist, Pam Tokarz, has been keeping busy living vicariously through her children. Eldest son John is an avid runner, recently finishing second in his age group at the Little Traverse Half Marathon. Younger son Mike is a finalist, for the second year in a row, in the Pure Michigan Moments Photo Contest. His image “Patiently Waiting” finished fourth overall and third in the Summer category in the popular vote.
